10 Ski Resorts That Celebrities Love

Ski resorts come in all sizes, from local favorites to world-renowned destinations. Some, however, stand out as celebrity favorites thanks to their exceptional skiing, charming villages, breathtaking views, luxurious accommodations, and fantastic dining.

Here, you’ll find a curated list of the top ski resorts where celebrities love to spend time in the winter.

1. Aspen, Colorado

Without a doubt, Aspen is at the top of this list. It’s hard to scroll through Instagram or read the news in the winter without spotting celebrities like the Kardashians, Justin Bieber, and many others enjoying the slopes or strolling down Main Street. Aspen’s appeal to celebrities comes from its world-class skiing, offering legendary runs, deep powder, and stunning snow-capped mountain views.

Add in luxury shopping at Chanel and Prada, along with accommodations like The Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons, and it’s no wonder Aspen is a celebrity hotspot.

2. Park City, Utah

Park City, Utah, is one of the biggest ski resorts in North America, so people from all over the world come to experience its massive resort, which has hundreds of different runs and two adorable village areas. Celebrities who are really passionate about snow sports love to come here for the countless different trail options and iconic snow. Combine that with fancy accommodations like the St. Regis, and it’s a match made in heaven for celebs.

Plus, the area hosts the Sundance Film Festival every January, which many celebrities love to attend.

3. Telluride, Colorado

Telluride is another resort that I hear about celebrities frequently visiting throughout the winter. As someone who lived in Colorado for a few years and still frequently visits the state, I always see on the news or social media that celebrities and famous singers like Thomas Rhett love visiting Telluride during the season for its beautiful views, awesome skiing, and fabulous lodging.

4. Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Jackson Hole is one of my absolute favorite places. For years, friends raved about the town and ski resort, but it wasn’t until my husband and I visited on our honeymoon that I truly understood its charm.

With luxurious accommodations like the Four Seasons, breathtaking skiing with views of the Tetons, upscale restaurants offering Western cuisine, and activities like snowmobiling, it’s a perfect destination. Celebrities are drawn to its skiing, snowy atmosphere, Western flair, and quaint charm. You really have to experience it firsthand to see what makes it so special.

5. Whistler Blackcomb, Canada

Whistler Blackcomb is the biggest ski resort in North America, boasting 8,171 acres of skiable terrain. Paired with an average of 408 inches of snowfall each year, it’s a powder lover’s dream, offering endless trails to explore. You could easily spend a week here without skiing the same run twice, which is a major attraction for celebrities.

Another big draw is the range of luxurious accommodations, from stunning private chalets to upscale hotels like the Four Seasons and the Fairmont Chateau, providing celebrities with the perfect blend of privacy and luxury.

6. Zermatt, Switzerland

People flock from all over the world to Zermatt, one of the most iconic mountains in the world. Not only is it insanely picturesque, but the skiing here is out of this world. These two things, combined with delicious Swiss food and adorable European accommodations, make celebrities love visiting here in the winter.

7. Verbier, Switzerland

Despite being just two hours away and a lesser-known celebrity hotspot, Verbier often flies under the radar, overshadowed by Zermatt. The rich and famous are drawn to Verbier for its privacy and exclusivity, allowing them to enjoy world-class skiing in the Swiss Alps without the large crowds. With luxurious chalets and 5-star hotels, it’s the perfect destination for those seeking a magical skiing experience in a more secluded, hidden gem of a resort.

8. Courchevel, France

Courchevel competes with Aspen as one of the top ski capitals in the world, though I believe Aspen has the edge. Still, Courchevel is a strong contender, known for its incredible slopes and some of the best runs in the French Alps. It’s an ideal spot for celebrities with luxurious hotels like Cheval Blanc in the area.

And who wouldn’t love spending a day on the slopes followed by an incredible French meal and delicious white wine or champagne?

9. St. Moritz, Switzerland

If you haven’t noticed yet, Switzerland and the United States are two top destinations that celebrities love to visit. Both countries offer various options that attract the rich and famous, including St. Moritz.

One key reason for its celebrity appeal is its exclusivity and privacy; it doesn’t attract as many tourists and crowds as some other resorts on this list, which is a major plus for stars. With luxurious hotels, gourmet restaurants, numerous outdoor adventures in the snow, and high-profile events like the St. Moritz Gourmet Festival held each year, it’s no wonder celebrities are drawn to this charming destination.

10. Lech, Austria

Austria is one of the most stunning countries I’ve ever explored, so it’s no wonder that celebrities have a favorite resort here. Many stars are drawn to Lech for its breathtaking scenery and exceptional skiing in the Austrian Alps.

This destination feels like a hidden gem; it doesn’t receive the same level of attention as resorts like Aspen or Zermatt, making it a preferred spot for famous individuals seeking a more private experience away from the crowds. Additionally, the après-ski scene in Lech is extraordinary, making it the perfect place for those with refined tastes.
