10 Best Luxury Ski Resorts In The United States

The top luxury ski resorts in the United States offer world-class accommodations, upscale dining, incredible slopes, stunning views, and an overall sophisticated atmosphere. When people think of Aspen, they often imagine designer boutiques, celebrity sightings, 5-star hotels, and upscale restaurants. It’s easily one of the most luxurious mountain towns in the U.S. I personally love strolling down Main Street and soaking it all in, but skiing is also a big part of the experience.

Aspen boasts not one but four incredible ski resorts: Aspen Mountain, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk. Each offers unique terrain and breathtaking views, and all are exceptional. If you’re looking to experience one of the most lavish ski destinations this season, Aspen is the place to be.

2. Deer Valley, Utah

Next up is Deer Valley, one of the most luxurious ski-only resorts in the United States. Visitors flock here for the outstanding skiing, luxury hotels, lavish chalets, and upscale dining options, including the Michelin-starred J&G Grill.

The entire Deer Valley experience is designed to be high-end, and their skiers-only policy enhances the exclusive atmosphere, sticking to their rules regardless of any controversy.

3. Park City, Utah

Park City is Utah’s largest ski resort and one of the biggest in North America. It’s known for its broad terrain, great slopes, and two village areas full of shops, restaurants, and high-end hotels.

A huge perk is that it’s only a 40-minute drive from Salt Lake City, so getting there for a luxury ski vacation is pretty easy. With its size, it feels like you’ve stepped into a whole town with amazing mountain views and a great ski vibe, making it a fantastic spot for a luxury ski trip.

Jackson Hole is one of my absolute favorite places in the world. It offers incredible dining, stunning mountain views, a charming cowboy vibe, top-notch ski resorts, and luxurious five-star hotels, all in a prime location near two national parks. It’s truly a slice of heaven. With everything it has to offer, it easily ranks among the top 5 luxury ski resorts in the U.S.

The combination of fantastic skiing and high-end accommodations at the base of the slopes exudes luxury. If you’ve never been to Jackson Hole and want a place you’ll dream about for years, make it your destination this winter.

5. Beaver Creek, Colorado

Beaver Creek offers a more exclusive vibe compared to other resorts. Locals often frequent this spot, and it doesn’t draw the same crowds as Breckenridge and Vail, which is a nice bonus.

Since Beaver Creek is part of Vail Resorts, you can expect the same high-end amenities, attention to detail, and exceptional service. You can also expect upscale accommodations, fine dining, and plenty of shopping choices. But one of my personal favorite aspects of Beaver Creek that adds to the overall luxurious experience is their daily warm chocolate chip cookies served at 3:00 PM. It’s a delightful touch that many resorts don’t offer, and it adds to the whole experience.

Sun Valley is another luxurious ski resort in the United States. It is located in central Idaho and is recognized as one of the top ski destinations in the Pacific Northwest. What really sets Sun Valley apart is its charming village area, the Sun Valley Village, which boasts awesome accommodations, numerous dining options, and one of the finest ski spas, The Spa at Sun Valley Resort. It’s the ideal spot to unwind after a long day on the slopes.

7. Big Sky, Montana

Big Sky is one of the first resorts that comes to mind when I think of luxury and high-end ski destinations. Given that Montana is generally an expensive state, I wasn’t surprised to discover that Big Sky has a higher price tag as well. But believe me, it’s worth every penny for the breathtaking views, accommodations, dining, atmosphere, and incredible skiing.

In Big Sky, you’ll find luxurious ski chalets, upscale hotels, plenty of shopping, and some of the most stunning mountain vistas. I could rave about the experience at Big Sky for hours, but you truly have to experience it for yourself to reallyunderstand all the hype surrounding this resort.

8. Yellowstone Club, Montana

In Montana, there’s an ultra-exclusive ski resort known as the only private ski and golf community in the world. Access is limited to members, who get to enjoy its incredible amenities, terrain, and facilities. It’s a retreat for celebrities, top CEOs, and even Mark Zuckerberg, so you can imagine the skiing and atmosphere are second to none.

Beyond skiing, the Yellowstone Club draws the rich and famous with its lavish homes, breathtaking views, world-class golf course, spa, 16 restaurants, outdoor activities, and unmatched seclusion. It’s one of the top luxury ski resorts in the United States, but it remains under the radar due to the steep membership fees required to experience it.

9. Telluride, Colorado

Telluride is hands down my favorite ski resort in Colorado. Although it’s a bit of a journey, a six-hour drive from Denver, it’s well worth it when you arrive and take in the picturesque Main Street, stunning views, top-tier accommodations, incredible dining, and exceptional skiing.

What really makes Telluride stand out as a luxury destination is its exclusivity. The effort it takes to get here means it doesn’t attract the usual crowds but draws celebrities seeking privacy and upscale amenities. The town is filled withluxury chalets boasting floor-to-ceiling windows, 4- and 5-star hotels, and an overall sense of wealth. On top of that, the resort’s skiing and on-mountain dining truly elevate the experience, making you feel right at home. It’s easily one of my favorite places in the world.

Vail is one of the most legendary ski resorts in the U.S., thanks to everything both the resort and town have to offer. Its charming village is one of the most picturesque I’ve ever seen, packed with shops, restaurants, accommodations, and breathtaking views. World-class skiing is just steps away, making the experience truly unmatched.

Plus, its location, just two hours from Denver, makes it incredibly convenient to reach. Vail is the perfect choice if you’re seeking easy access and one of Colorado’s most luxurious resorts.
