What I love most about Valle Nevado is that it’s part of the Ikon Pass, making it super convenient for skiers from the United States who already have this pass to enjoy skiing in Chile.
I’m also a big fan of the cozy lodges and vibrant après-ski scene, it’s the perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes. Overall, it’s an incredible destination for anyone looking to ski in the Southern Hemisphere!
2. Las Leñas, Argentina
Las Leñas is Argentina’s most famous ski resort, and for good reason. Situated in the Mendoza Province, it offers long runs, excellent powder, and stunning mountain vistas.
This resort is known for its challenging off-piste terrain, making it a favorite for advanced skiers and expert snowboarders. But don’t worry if you’re a beginner; there are plenty of groomed slopes to enjoy, too. Another one of my favorite resorts in South America is Catedral Alta Patagonia. It is one of the largest ski resorts in South America and is located near the beautiful city of Bariloche. It’s a favorite among families and offers a wide range of trails for beginners to expert skiers.
The resort features modern lifts, well-groomed slopes, and incredible views of Nahuel Huapi Lake. While the skiing is awesome, another feature that makes this resort stand out is its location near the nearby town of Bariloche, which adds to its charm, with its Swiss-inspired architecture and delicious chocolate shops.
7. La Parva, Chile
La Parva is another gem in the Tres Valles ski area and a favorite among locals. It offers a quieter and more relaxed vibe than its neighbors, Valle Nevado and El Colorado.
